The Story

The Story Behind Naiyya

Naiyya: Weaving Art and Sustainability into Every Saree

Naiyya was born from Neha’s deep love for handloom, Indian art forms, and the quiet beauty of handmade textiles. What began as a childhood memory — draping her maa’s dupatta like a saree — slowly unfolded into a passion for six yards and the stories they can carry.

As Neha grew, so did her admiration for India’s folk traditions. She felt a strong desire to preserve these art forms, not just as paintings on walls but as wearable stories. That seed became Naiyya — a handloom label built on the belief that heritage can be beautifully reimagined for today.

Art in Every Stitch

Naiyya focuses on bringing iconic Indian folk arts — Warli, Madhubani, Gond, Kalamkari and more — into a new light.
These art forms have traditionally lived in paintings, but Neha wanted to give them a modern, tactile expression. At Naiyya, these motifs are transformed into delicate hand embroideries on handloom sarees, offering a fresh perspective while still honouring their roots.

The vision is simple yet powerful:
to create sarees that resonate across generations — rooted in tradition, refined for today.
